Souta Kitaoka, born in Shizunai, Hokkaido, to a family that ran a restaurant called "Kitaoka," moved to Tokyo for training in order to rebuild his family's run-down restaurant. There, he was discovered by the owner of "Tomikyuう," a long-established ryotei restaurant in Ginza, where he underwent rigorous training, eventually becoming the head chef. After that, he went on a culinary journey until he opened his own restaurant, "Tomikyuう Kamui" in Nerima, Tokyo.

A few years later, Sota is back at it again, this time to pursue the essence of "omotenashi" (hospitality), just in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics! The long-awaited revival of the classic culinary manga!
